BALTIMORE OR
PHILADELPHIA IN 2010
ATI is pleased to
report to our members and friends that before our September 18th
submission deadline, we received two proposals for our summer 2010
Annual Conference from members in Baltimore and Philadelphia.
Over
the next several weeks, ATI’s Conference Committee will be reviewing
both proposals and making a recommendation to the ATI Board of
Directors concerning which proposal is the best choice. Will it be
Maryland crab cakes or Philly cheese steaks? The Inner Harbor or the
Liberty Bell? An Orioles or a Phillies baseball game? Who knows? We
do know that our 2010 conference will be on the east coast, so stay
tuned for the final decision. |

ATI SALUTES ITS
ORGANIZATIONAL MEMBERS
As of late
September, ATI counted 48 individual members, three auxiliary
members, 22 organizational members (a total of 39 travel trainers if
you add travel trainers within these organizations, other than their
one voting member), and of course our one Gold Sponsor, Metro in St.
Louis.
This adds up to 91 total members. One way that ATI says “thank you”
to our organizational members is to list them on our website Links
page for all to see. CLICK HERE to
read the current list of ATI organizational members, and we
encourage our readers who may be traveling in our organizational
members’ communities to use their transportation services while
there. And, while you are on the ATI website, please consider
becoming an organizational, individual or auxiliary member, or a
bronze, silver or gold ATI sponsor. You can accomplish any of these
tasks right on our homepage,
www.travelinstruction.org. |

TRAVEL TRAINING INTRO
EVENT IN ST. LOUIS IN DECEMBER
Our friends at Easter Seals Project ACTION
(Accessible Community Transportation In Our Nation) will hold an
“Introduction To Travel Training Course” from December 9 – 11 in St.
Louis, MO.
The teachers at this course are all experienced travel trainers who
happen to be members of ATI as well. The deadline for applying for
this course is November 10th. So, we ask all ATI members
and other readers of this newsletter, do you know of an entity that
is thinking of starting up a travel training program? If so, forward
this newsletter to them or otherwise inform them of this event. For
additional information and guidelines, go to
http://projectaction.easterseals.com. The information about this
course is the lead item in the right-side menu. |

FORWARD THIS NEWSLETTER
Know other travel trainers who are
not ATI members, or other persons simply interested in ATI’s
mission?
If so, please forward this issue
to them. Help ATI build our membership and attract new sponsors! |
