Meagan Greathouse
President Elect
Meagan Greathouse is a transit professional with over 18 years of experience at METRO Regional Transit Authority (METRO RTA) in Akron, Ohio where she serves as a Mobility Specialist. In this role, Meagan is an integral part of METRO’s Travel Training program, which she helped establish, and she is deeply committed to shaping customer experiences by working closely with community members to enhance their understanding and use of public transit. She believes in the power of focusing on personalized interactions and thoughtfully cultivating community relations to foster meaningful connections and strives to advocate for passenger independence through safe, equitable, and accessible public mobility options and vital resources to ensure that passengers feel valued and supported.
Meagan has presented on local, state, and national platforms, provides mentorship to peers, has had her classroom-based travel training work highlighted in two publications including Easterseals Project Action (ESPA), and currently serves as president of Ohio Travel Trainers (OTT).
Meagan is actively involved in committees, groups, and projects in her area that serve diverse populations, including individuals with disabilities, older adults, workforce development, and re-entry programs. She is also a strong advocate for mental health initiatives, women’s issues, and animal welfare. Meagan has been engaged with ATI for more than a decade, serving on various committees since joining the board in 2022. She currently holds the role of ATI President-Elect, co-chairs the Media Committee, assists with website management, and serves on the Professional Development Committee.
